Blessing after sorrow

Was it accidental for Ruth to work in the field of Boaz?
In the book of Ruth chapter 2:11-17 we read in the text that Ruth did not know that Boaz was Naomi’s family. She was as it looks by accident working in the field of Boaz. Most of us do not believe in accidental situations, but believe that we can see the hand of God in the life of Ruth and Naomi. The Lord is bringing restoration in the life of Ruth and Naomi after a long time of sorrow and grief.
Ruth has a good character
We read this also in the answer that Boaz gives: “All that you have done for your mother-in-law after the death of your husband has been fully reported to me, and how you left your father and your mother, and the land of your birth, and came to a people that you did not previously know. May the Lord reward your work, and your wages be full for the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to seek refuge.” Ruth 2:11-12.
The wings of God
Here Boaz says that Ruth has left her own family. So precious to her are the people of God and the God of Israel. Boaz tells her that she now is hiding under the wings of the God of Israel. Ruth answers Boaz: “I have found favor in your sight, my lord, for you have comforted me and indeed have spoken kindly to your maidservant, though I am not like one of your maidservants.” Here Ruth shows her respect for the people of God: Israel. Psalm 91:4 “He will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings you may seek refuge.”Ruth obeyed her mother-in-law and Boaz
Ephesians 6:1 “Children obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother (which is the first commandment with a promise) that it may be well with you and that you may live long on the earth.”
(Read in the section: teaching the children the article: Ruth by Noa Naor from Jerusalem)
We see that Ruth had a heart to serve willingly.Ruth: a woman with willing hands
When Ruth comes home she tells her mother-in-law Naomi what happened that day. After this Naomi said to Ruth: “ May he be blessed of the Lord who has not withdrawn his kindness to the living and to the dead.” Furthermore Naomi said to her: “The man is our relative, he is one of our closest relatives.” Ruth 2:20
And Ruth the Moabitess said, “Furthermore, he (Boaz) said to me, “You should stay close to my servants till they have finished all the harvest.”
“So she (Ruth) stayed close by the maids of Boaz in order to glean till the end of the barley harvest and the wheat harvest. And she lived with her mother-in-law.” Ruth 2:22-23

Ruth: an assiduous woman
That is a character trait of an woman of valor or an esjet chayil. In Prov.31:13 it says: “..she works with her hands in delight.” In Hebrew the word: chephets is used and this means: working with willingness, delight, pleasure, purpose.
A model
In this time of individualism it is often so difficult to serve and take care for people with pleasure. Ruth took care of her husband and mother-in-law. She was full of love. She was gentle and hard working and obeying. A woman that is a model for all of us.Elze Erwteman
